Hogenakkal Waterfall

Hogenakkal Falls is a waterfall in South India on the river Kaveri. It is a huge complex of waterfalls in the Dharmapuri area  which together make a pretty breathtaking view and definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

The word Hogenakkal is formed of two Kannada words, “ hoge” and “kal”. When the water falls on the rocks it appears as if “hoge” or smoke is coming out from the top of the “kal” or the rock. It is all because of the force of the water, therefore the name is Hogenakkal.
